Item Description:

 

Most skin injuries can cause scars an keloid. In response to the damage, the boday attempts to repair the wound in four major phase: inflmmatory, proliferative, contraction and remodeling. Unfortunately, this process of healing gives rise to scrs. Typically scars lack hair follicles and sweat glands are less elastic than original skin and tend to be lighter in color. Scars can be classified as hypertrophic, Keloid and  hypotrophic.

Scars develp due to proliferation of fibroblasts in the wound. Fibroblasts are specialized cells that produce collagen, which then fills and closes the wound. Scars differ from normal skin in the amount of collagen they contain and the way in which these collagen fibrils are arranges . In normal skin the  collagen fibrils are organized, with most running in the direction of the crease lines of the skin and a much smaller number unning perpendicular to this. but in scars , the collagen is disorganized
